Famous Real life Pirates

There were many pirates that sailed the high seas of the 17th and 18th centuries. with names like Blackbeard, Henry Morgan, Jean Laffite and John Rackham to name a few. Blackbeard’s real name was Edward Teach but Whatever name he went by he struck fear into the hearts of many a sailor. Blackbeard was definately one of the most feared pirates of his day. Henry Morgan began his pirate career in 1655 and and over the years left a legacy of piracy still talked about today. Jean Laffite was based in New Orleans and was not to peticular about which ships he raided, incuding those from Spain, Britain and America. John Rackham was also known as Calico Jack and ended up turning his ship over to the two famous women pirates, Anne Bonny and Mary Read. As you can see history is full a interesting swashbuckling pirate tales.
